Creation of Special Weapons: Lychee can use her whispering magic to discover the desires and traits that would fit weapon to fighter. From a series of questions the answers and memories given to her will transfer to the creation of the weapon and give it spirit. Each weapon she makes of this type has a special name to it and can be found by a carefully placed mark. The name helps her individualize and identify the piece and allow it to evolve for its user. The owner isn’t bound to keep the name. He/she can call it whatever they wish for the weapon will be one with the user for the rest of their life; however Lychee can only listen and speak to it through its true name. If the owner of one these weapons fall, it is requested that they return it to Lychee to be melted as a tribute to the warrior. What is left will form into a symbol that represented the blades impression of the warrior and later arranged to rest with them. This also gives thanks to Terra for allowing her to use her gifts. Work attitude: Lychee views blacksmithing as a serious art. She believes that a fighter’s spirit is one with their weapon and, when paired properly, can be formidable in any battle. With farming and animal care the tools are used as part of a prayer and should be as hardy as the user. She works each day trying to hone her skills and improve the items she creates; unfortunately it can cause her to become distracted and loose track of time. Background: Lychee was born from parents who were tied to Terra through agriculture and lived simple lives. Her father owned maintained a small sized fruit and nut orchard while her mother specialized in culinary arts and worked at different kitchens in Haven. From age 18-20 she would help her father in the orchard the morning and after school would do a few food deliveries for her mother. At first she wanted to bake like her mother, always entranced by the fire in the hearth, but one fateful delivery to an elder blacksmith changed that. She was amazed how the weapons were made and the owner, who she would later become an apprentice of, could do so with might and Whispering magic. After completion of school she took up work at the old blacksmiths shop Terra’s Anvil and began her tutelage by selling wares. She was shop keeper for ten years until she reached 40 and from there worked in the smithy as an apprentice until the age of 125. During that time she learned and excelled in her own type of Whispering magic. Once released of her apprenticeship she used the money she earned to build her own smithy and small tree house near the lake and within close range of her parents orchard. Lychee doesn’t have any formal training in fighting. She can use different weapons from testing their durability with Holly, but has mastered no style with them. However that makes her far from helpless. She does favor the use of work and war hammers and can scrap with the best of them, as some of the male blacksmiths can swear to. Personality: Lychee, or Ly to people close to her, is laid back and quiet by choice more than nature however it doesn’t keep her from being politely social. Good or bad she always has something on her mind. It reflects in her eyes and face, but when questioned about it too early she will politely sidestep or redirect the flow of conversation with a sly smile and wink. From gaining the habit of listening to the metal she forges she will often wait until a person finishes what they have to say before giving her own opinion. She shows great affection and loyalty towards her friends and family, but will seem a bit guarded to people outside of her circle. Romance is a bit of a pickle for her. She secretly harbors feelings for her childhood friend Holly that keeps her from actively searching. Not knowing if what she feels is just love or something more she’s kept it from everyone, including Raspberry; who thinks Lychee is being stubborn and a work-aholic. Lychee will usually be found working in her smithy, Solus’s Heart. While there she focuses on the task at hand and rarely gets distracted (better be a good reason or a better friend). When she does remember to take time off she can be found enjoying her pipe in her hammock out back, testing and balancing weapons, helping her parents at their farm, or at the Gilded Gown. Appearance: Though gaining a little more money with blacksmithing, Lychee still falls into the trap of dressing for work or comfort. While working she has the typical gear that varies from the seasons, however out of work she will usually wear tunics, breeches, and slippers. Thanks to Raspberry she does own a few festival dresses, but they see little use for she’s always at work. She is slightly bigger than most female Unavisi from her work. Arms, chest, back, hips and thighs are built with tight muscle. She isn’t afraid to get dirty, work, or lift and developed a few small nicks, burns, and scars; mostly on her hands, arms, legs and midsection. She never seems to feel uncomfortable about them until she dresses up and it is then she prefers long gowns with extra long sleeves. Lychee does have a slight gap twist and hook in her horn caused by an anvil accident when younger. She struck it with just a hammer and it recoiled back into her horn. A painful lesson that she endured, and even bigger blow to her self confidence as it grew back. She accepts her horn as it is now and even has a guilty pleasure of finding jewelry that accentuates it.
